  • Dragon Prawn Cocktail

    Cold water prawns bound in creamy Marie Rose sauce on a bed of crisp iceberg lettuce. Garnished with king prawns.
  • Deep-Fried Goat's Cheese (V)

    Creamy goat's cheese in our own batter and deep-fried. Served with a salad leaf garnish and beetroot chutney.
  • Lamb Shank in Pomegranate Jus

    Slow roasted lamb shank cooked in a fruity pomegranate jus and served with a timbale of tabbouleh.
  • Goat's Cheese and Beetroot Tart (V)

    Hand pinched shortcrust pastry tart filled with beetroot and creamy goat's cheese. Served with new potatoes and buttered fresh vegetables.
  • Dragon Burger

    Beef burger in our special recipe burger bun, topped with bacon, cheese, tomato, mushroom, onion rings and a fried egg. Served with home cooked chips, lettuce, tomato and gherkin.
  • Puddle Pudding

    A sponge pudding with a delicious puddle of hot sauce at it's heart. Ask if we are serving chocolate or toffee.
  • Bannoffee Ice Cream Sundae

    Scrumptious caramel, banana and chocolate ice creams with cream and toffee and chocolate sauces.

About Us

This 17th Century Coaching Inn is situated in the picturesque village of Welton, just five miles from the attractions of Hull, making it the ideal location if you are ever thinking of stopping over when visiting Hull or exploring the Yorkshire Wolds. The Green Dragon is ideally situated for walkers, cyclists and equestrian lovers and is just two minutes from the A63, making it a great choice for business travellers. The pub plays its part in history and the highwayman Dick Turpin frequented the establishment before his capture and execution. The Green Dragon has comfortable furnished and homely hotel accommodation, with 11 en-suite rooms located in the external stable block. There is also plenty of free parking with 14 spaces for hotel guests. The heart and soul of the hotel remains the pub itself and we are sure you will enjoy our friendly bar. Why not try out our extensive fresh food menu which includes a variety of local produce dishes as well as sandwiches and lighter options? Or you can unwind at the end of the day with a glass of specially selected wine or one of our range of beers, which include some cask ales. Room rates include our fantastic free breakfast.
